Nintendo wii gaming systems are becoming increasingly popular amongst the elderly wii’s are useful to keep seniors active and connected through physical and mental activity

Try: Discuss the wii with the Care recipient (cr) see if he is familiar with the gaming system if the facility the cr lives at has a wii have the cr watch someone playing the system suggest games that can be played with limited mobility for example tennis and bowling can be played by cr’s in wheelchairs or standing still all that is needed is the some upper body mobility the cr’s may reminisce of times when they used to play the actual game in the past this can stimulate mental activity as well if the cr is a member of community or has regular visits with friends suggest organizing a tournament or some regularly scheduled competition
