Helping the Care recipient (cr) get a good night’s sleep

Try: #stick to the same schedule each day encourage the cr to go to bed rise and nap at the same time every day #keep napping to a minimum plan the nap for afternoon and do not allow the nap to be longer than 2 hours #make sure dinner is eaten at least 2 or 3 hours before bedtime as digestion can prevent the sleep process #a very light snack before bed can be encouraged to dispel hunger it’s hard to sleep on an empty stomach #encourage the cr to avoid caffeinated drinks beverages and other liquids after dinner #a full bladder can interrupt a good night’s sleep
