Care recipient (cr) has difficulty locating clothing in a closet due to poor lighting and declining vision

Try: Install an extra light in the closet make sure the cr is able to easily reach and operate the light you choose and that the fixture attaches firmly so it won’t work loose from its setting battery-operated lights can be found in hardware stores organize the closet so that the most frequently used items are closest to cr arrange items by category shirts or blouse pants skirts and dresses jackets etc make sure the order is maintained so the cr gets used to where things are in the closet place shoes neatly on the floor or shelves if shoes are kept in boxes attach photos of the shoes to the outside of the box so the contents can be seen without the box having to be opened
